Cult film director, John Waters visiting Denver , 2002 February 23.

One day back in 1989, I was wandering around City Hall in Denver when I observed a crowd at a courtroom entrance. I politely said "excuse me" and entered with my camera, quietly went to the back and captured Raymond Burr doing his Perry Mason act for a film crew. Burr did numerous episodes here. Veteran actor Jerry Orbach was there and personally came back to fill me in on what was going on.

Jerry Lewis, the king of comedy from another era. This shot shows Jerry in his first few seconds of public performance after the death of his estranged longtime comedy partner Dean Martin the day before. The shot was difficult due to distance. A handful of photographers were given just a few minutes to shoot and had to do it from the farthest row of Temple Buell Theater. I used a tripod, a 350 mm telephoto and fast film. On the set of Damn Yankees, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, ca. 1999.
